Plane Crashes Into Trees at Wentworth Aerodrome

Emergency crews raced to Wentworth Aerodrome just before midday today after reports a small plane crashed into trees during take-off.

Pilot and Passenger Escape Unscathed

Barrier Police District officers found the aircraft at the northern end of the runway. The 65-year-old pilot and his 42-year-old passenger managed to free themselves and met emergency services on the runway.

Injuries Reported, Investigation Underway

NSW Ambulance treated one man for a head laceration while checking both for shock. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) will probe the cause of the crash.
