Two men have been charged with the murder of 31-year-old Dean Evans. Detectives have formally charged Liam Darvill, 20, and Thomas David Harris, 22, both from Basingstoke, with the serious offence.

The accused are scheduled to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Monday, April 11. Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man who was previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail. He is required to return to police on June 13 as the investigation continues.

Dean Evans was found seriously injured lying in the road outside a property on Benham Road, Basingstoke, shortly after 5.30am on Friday, April 8. The discovery followed reports of an assault in the area.

South Central Ambulance Service rushed Mr. Evans to hospital, but sadly he died shortly after arrival. Police are continuing their inquiries to determine the circumstances that led to this fatal attack.
