North London Duo Nabbed in Major Crack Cocaine Sting
Two north London men have copped to running a crack cocaine supply racket in Crawley, following a big police crackdown on county lines drug dealing. Abdiqadir Ali, 25, and Bashir Mohammed, 27, pleaded guilty to multiple offences linked to the local “Silver” drug network peddling Class A drugs.
Drugs Thrown From Window During Early Morning Raid
Sussex Police raided a Langley Drive property in the early hours of 12 March. During the swoop, officers saw packets of crack cocaine hurled from a window. The search uncovered more Class A drugs and nearly £6,000 in cash stashed inside.
- Charges include possession with intent to supply crack cocaine
- Money laundering offences
- Possession of cannabis
Ali and Mohammed appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court that day and admitted all charges.
County Lines Crackdown Yields Huge Haul Across West Sussex
This bust was just one part of the intensive County Lines operation targeting organised drug gangs exploiting vulnerable victims. Across West Sussex, police hit hard with:
- 10 warrants executed
- 37 arrests made
- £12,000 cash seized
- 17 mobile phones and 12 knives recovered
- Vehicle confiscated
- 26 children and 20 vulnerable adults identified and safeguarded
Detectives warned county lines gangs ruthlessly exploit youngsters and vulnerable people, coercing them into trafficking drugs or taking over their homes.
Ali and Mohammed to Face Crown Court Sentencing
Both men are due for sentencing at Crown Court on 9 April. Police say more charges and convictions are on the horizon as probes continue.
