Two Men Nabbed and Charged After Gillingham Break-In

Burglary Shocker in Davenport Avenue

Two men were arrested at the scene of a daring break-in on Davenport Avenue, Gillingham. The raid, reported around 6.45pm on Monday 20 January 2020, saw intruders force open a door and steal valuables including a laptop, speakers, and a bank card.

Suspects Caught Red-Handed

Police quickly swooped and found two suspects nearby. Jamie Stanford, 32, from Chelmar Road, Chatham, was charged not only with burglary but also for carrying a knife in public. Roy Iliffe, 39, with no fixed address, faced burglary charges as well.

Next Stop: Court

Both men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 22 January. They were remanded in custody and await a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on a date yet to be set.
