Drug Dealer Busted with Cocaine Stashed in Sock
A Tunbridge Wells drug dealer thought he could outsmart cops by hiding cocaine in a sock. Kirstian Botev’s sneaky stash didn’t fool officers patrolling Broadmead.
£10,000 Worth of Cocaine Found in Kitchen Raid
On 15 September 2025, Neighbourhood Task Force officers spotted Botev acting suspiciously on Showfields Road. After pulling him over, they found a black sock filled with small bags of cocaine in his car. Cannabis was also tucked away in the glove box.
Botev refused to give a home address, but detectives worked out he lived just 100 metres away. A key on him unlocked a raid at his Tudor Court flat. Inside, police found around £10,000 of cocaine, £2,000 of cannabis, and £5,000 in cash.
Two and a Half Years Behind Bars
The 31-year-old was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, possession of criminal property, and driving without insurance. He pleaded guilty to all offences.
On 2 March 2026, Maidstone Crown Court sentenced Botev to two and a half years in prison.
Police Praise Local Officers for Quick Action
“Neighbourhood Task Force officers rely on their local knowledge to track down offenders and reduce crime,” said Sergeant Edward Kavanagh.
“Officers acted fast on suspicious behaviour, leading to a major drug haul and putting a dealer behind bars.”
“These criminals harm our whole community. We’ll keep targeting them to bring justice.”
