Three men from Tottenham were sentenced to a combined total of over ten years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, including crack, heroin, and cocaine. The hearing was held at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 1 December.
Jorrell Ankrah, 27, of Boulevard Drive, NW9, received a four-year sentence for conspiracy to supply crack and heroin. Kevin Moata, 30, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three years and two months for conspiracy to supply crack and heroin. Douglas Pereira, 20, of Ferrers Road, SW16, was handed three years and four months for conspiracy to supply crack and heroin, as well as possession with intent to sell cocaine.
Sergeant Nick Stylianou from the Specialist Crime North Proactive Team commented on the case: “This operation uncovered a group dealing Class A drugs over ten months, living lavish lifestyles funded by crime. Our dedication to tackling drug supply continues, as it’s linked to exploitation and serious violence causing untold misery.”
The investigation began after officers stopped Douglas Pereira in Tottenham on 27 September 2022. Pereira attempted to flee but was apprehended with several wraps of Class A drugs and a mobile phone. Data retrieved from the phone connected him to Jorrell Ankrah and Kevin Moata, who operated the Mikey drugs line. Pereira was initially released on bail but was charged on 4 October 2022. Ankrah was arrested the same day, found in possession of a phone confirmed to be the main drugs line. Pereira had contacted this number hundreds of times daily. Moata was located and arrested at an undisclosed location on 18 October 2022 and was subsequently brought to London for questioning.
Sergeant Stylianou issued a warning to those involved in drug dealing: “Let this be a warning to those involved in drug dealing – if you engage in crime, you will be found, arrested, and face the courts.”
