Drug Dealers Caged for 34 Years After Massive Cocaine Bust
Three drug dealers have been handed a combined 34 years behind bars following a high-profile investigation. Daniel Doran, 32, Megan Woodham, 30, and Kelsey Higgins, 26, all from Merseyside, were sentenced today at Liverpool Crown Court.
Major Cocaine and Ketamine Conspiracy Uncovered
- Daniel Doran of Kirkby got 15 years for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (cocaine).
- Kelsey Higgins from Bootle received 13 and a half years for the same offence.
- Megan Woodham of Wigan was sentenced to six years after being found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and smuggling Class B ketamine into HMP Risley while working as a healthcare assistant.
Valerie Doran, 54, also of Kirkby and linked to the gang, was convicted of money laundering and awaits sentencing on January 20.
£1 Million Cocaine Haul Sparks Crackdown
The crackdown followed the arrest of John Butler, 27, in January last year. He was caught with 10kgs of cocaine worth around £1 million in Netherton. Butler, driving a black Volkswagen, was stopped on Heysham Road and later sentenced to eight years.
Policing Pledge: ‘No Stone Left Unturned’
“We welcome today’s sentencing, which shows we will leave no stone unturned,” said Detective Sergeant Peter Sloan.
“This was a complex case that stemmed from Butler’s arrest. Organised crime like this brings violence and fear to our communities. We urge anyone with info on drug activity in their area to come forward.”
