Teen Drug Dealer Banged Up with £1,000 of Heroin and Crack in Chatham
A 19-year-old drug dealer has been slammed behind bars after cops found more than £1,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine at a Chatham address. The haul was discovered during a search of a home on Thorold Road in March, initially linked to a separate probe.
Seized Wraps and Breach of Order
Sadaq Omar, who has no fixed address, was caught red-handed in a back room with dozens of wraps of class A drugs. Further checks revealed he was also breaking a criminal behaviour order from Uxbridge that banned him from owning a mobile phone or possessing drugs.
Judge Slaps 3½ Year Jail Sentence
Omar pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and was handed a hefty 3 years and 6 months sentence on May 26, 2018. He admitted two counts of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, plus two breaches of the court order.
Police Won’t Tolerate Drug Dealers in Kent
All seized drugs have been destroyed. Detective Constable Rob Hemsley said: “Drug dealers and the substances they sell are not welcome in Chatham or the rest of Kent. Officers will keep hunting down these criminals and making sure they face justice.”
“Dealers, like Omar, actively target and exploit vulnerable people for their own illegal profit.”
