Teen Charged After E-Scooter Crash Kills 14-Year-Old in Manchester

A 14-year-old boy has been charged following a deadly collision that claimed the life of another teenager in Wythenshawe.

Jacob Calland, 14, died after his e-scooter collided with a car around 4pm on 19 March 2025, Greater Manchester Police confirmed.

Serious Charges for Young Driver

The accused, also 14, faces serious charges including causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence, and driving uninsured.

Youth to Face Court Next Year

The boy is currently on bail and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Youth Court on 24 February 2026.
