A Stoke-on-Trent man, Jaroslaw Adamkowski, 42, has been sentenced to seven years and seven months in prison after being found guilty of raping a woman and secretly filming her undressing. The case was heard at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday, 15 January.
The court was told that Adamkowski raped his victim in February of the previous year. Additionally, he secretly recorded the woman undressing on two separate occasions in January, without her knowledge or consent. These disturbing videos were discovered by police after they seized Adamkowski’s phone during their investigation.
The victim showed great courage by reporting the abuse to Staffordshire Police, who responded promptly. Following the report, Adamkowski was arrested and charged with rape and two counts of voyeurism. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was immediately placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Detective Sergeant Razwana Nasheen from the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit stated, “We’re determined to seek the toughest possible punishment in court for those guilty of these types of offences and to deliver positive outcomes for survivors.”
