Paedophile Jailed for Nearly 11 Years Over Child Sex Abuses in Thanet
A man has been locked up for nearly 11 years after committing a string of horrific sexual offences against a young girl in Thanet.
Abuse Started When Victim Was Just Six
Aron Scott’s abuse began over a decade ago, targeting the girl when she was only six years old. The vile attacks carried on into her early teens, including multiple rapes.
The victim bravely confided in her family, who contacted Kent Police in 2020. This led to an intensive probe by the East Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team.
Multiple Charges and Long Prison Sentence
- Scott, 27, from Birds Avenue, Margate, facing 12 charges including child rape and inciting sexual activity
- Admitted all charges in court
- Sentenced on 11 May 2022 to 10 years and 10 months behind bars
- Hit with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order to protect the public post-release
Police Praise Victim’s Courage, Warn Others to Speak Out
“The impact on his victim is difficult to underestimate,” said Detective Constable Susan Kingsnorth, the lead investigator.
“I praise her for telling her family and supporting us as we brought Scott to justice.”
“Anyone suffering sexual abuse or fearing for a child’s safety should contact police immediately. We will protect victims and punish offenders.”
This case shines a harsh spotlight on child abuse in the community and the vital role of speaking up. Kent Police continue to urge anyone with concerns to come forward without delay.
