Thomas Murphy, 63, of George Green, Slough, has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of sexual assault against a child under 13.
The offences took place between May 2018 and August 2020 in Eastleigh, targeting a single child during this period.
On 19 May, Southampton Crown Court handed down the jail term to Murphy.
In addition to his prison sentence, Murphy has been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register and is subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Authorities have emphasized that justice for child victims remains a top priority.
Detective Constable Heather Tack of Hampshire Constabulary’s Child Protection team said, “Firstly I would like to commend the child for their courage in coming forward and telling us what happened to them and for their bravery throughout this investigation. No child should have to suffer. We hope this case shows our commitment to bringing abusers to justice.”
