Shotgun Slam Downed Rotherham Man
A man blasted a shotgun at a house in Rotherham – and cops caught him just hours later. Swift detective work cracked the case wide open.
Gunfire Rocks Rawmarsh Home
On 25 November 2024 at 6:18pm, police raced to Dawson Avenue, Rawmarsh, after reports of gunfire at a property. Armed officers found clear evidence of a shotgun blast – but luckily, no one was hurt.
Threats, CCTV and Swift Justice
Officers soon uncovered earlier threats at the same address. Witnesses said the suspect warned the homeowner he would “shoot the lot of you.” Investigators zeroed in on Craig Berridge, 46, from Grange Road, Rawmarsh. Just over two hours after the shooting, he was in custody. CCTV showed Berridge firing the shotgun while wearing the same clothes he was arrested in. Other footage caught him making threats before the attack.
Six Years Locked Up for Firearms Offender
Berridge faced charges for possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear, carrying a knife in public, and affray. He pled guilty to all. On Wednesday 14 January, Sheffield Crown Court handed him six years behind bars – plus four years on extended licence. Justice served fast and hard.
