A notorious shop thief has finally been put behind bars after a reckless crime spree across West Sussex.
Bradie Thomson’s Crime Spree Comes to a Grinding Halt
Bradie Thomson, 37, homeless and on the loose, pleaded guilty to eight shop thefts and a burglary at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 9 February. The court didn’t hold back, sentencing him to six months in prison.
Thomson’s thefts spanned from July 2025 to January 2026. He targeted stores in Worthing, Hove, Littlehampton, Sompting, and Angmering. His victims? Big chains like Co-op, Sainsbury’s, and Iceland.
A Record Criminal Faces a Harsh Ban
With 58 convictions amounting to 209 offences, mostly theft, Thomson’s criminal record reads like a catalogue of crime.
The court slapped him with a brutal five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), locking down where he can go:
- No entry to any Co-op stores across Sussex.
- Banned from all Sainsbury’s outlets in West Sussex.
- If told to leave any shop, he must comply immediately—no loitering allowed.
Police Hail Tough Justice
“Thomson was a repeat offender, and we are pleased that he is now serving a custodial sentence. We work closely with businesses to tackle shoplifting and protect the community and staff,” said Adur and Worthing District Commander Chief Inspector James Davidson.
