Soulay Fornah, 19, from Acorn Walk, Rotherhithe, has been charged with the murder of fellow 19-year-old Kalvin Taylor. Taylor’s body was discovered in a flat on Lefroy Road, Norwich, eight days after he was fatally stabbed in the chest on September 13, 2024.
The grim discovery was made on September 21 when police were alerted to the property. Fornah was initially arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder on September 26 and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on March 21.
His trial at Norwich Crown Court is scheduled to begin on April 28 and is expected to last four weeks. Fornah joins three others charged over Taylor’s murder: Leon Bangura, 20, of Old Kent Road, Bermondsey; Adam Dugdale, 55, of Shorncliffe Avenue, Norwich; and Carrie-Anne Hall, 51, of Lodge Breck, Norwich. None of the suspects have yet entered a plea.
Leon Bangura faces additional charges including involvement in Class A drug supply, possession with intent to supply, and possession of a bladed article in public. Meanwhile, Matthew Holmes, 51, of Bowthorpe Road, Norwich, has been charged with assisting an offender and remains on conditional bail.
The victim’s family released a heartbreaking statement: “It is so devastating what has happened to my son. It has left our family in a million pieces which we will never recover from.”
“Kalvin was a son, a grandson, a brother, a cousin, and a friend to us all. We will remember and miss Kalvin all the days of our life. We love you Kalvin, rest in heavenly peace until we meet again.”
Norfolk Constabulary confirms the investigation is ongoing and urges anyone with information to come forward. Further updates are expected as the court date approaches.
