Detectives are actively searching for witnesses following a suspicious house fire that severely damaged a property in Ramsgate.

At 2.34am on Thursday 29 October, Kent Police received reports of a house ablaze on Wheatley Road. Firefighters from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly to tackle the flames, which caused significant damage to the home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

A 34-year-old woman from Ramsgate was arrested in connection with the fire. She has since been released on bail until 20 November.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or has any information about the blaze to come forward. Witnesses can contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting crime reference 46/193668/20.
