A Portsmouth man, Andrew Keith John Hancock, has been jailed for three years and three months after carrying out a series of burglaries over two months. Hancock, who lives on Deerhurst Crescent, committed ten burglaries between February 25 and April 17 this year.

Hancock targeted homes across Portchester and Paulsgrove, including properties on Portsdown Road, Browning Avenue, and Lime Grove. His crime spree also extended to Fareham, where he raided homes on Hill Road, Winterbourne Road, Portsview Avenue, and Edward Grove.

The stolen items included computer games consoles, jewellery, and other valuables. While these items represented a significant loss to the victims, they were a lucrative haul for Hancock.

With Hancock now serving his sentence, residents in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas can feel more secure. The court’s firm sentence sends a strong message to would-be burglars operating in the region.
