A pharmacy manager has been sentenced to nine years in prison for grooming and abusing a teenage girl on Snapchat. Shahzad Hussain, 27, from Keighley, conned the victim by lying about his age and now faces a heavy jail term at Bradford Crown Court.
Hussain’s Twisted Snapchat Trap
Posing as a 21-year-old, Hussain targeted the underage girl online. Despite clear warnings about her true age, he pressed on with his sickening abuse throughout 2022.
The court found him guilty of six child sexual offences. Recorder Richard Paige handed down an extended sentence: seven years behind bars plus two years on licence. Hussain must also sign the sex offenders’ register for life and comply with a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Victim’s Family Breaks Silence
“The abuse has had devastating consequences for both my daughter and all of us,” said the girl’s father in a powerful victim impact statement read during the trial.
This horrific case is part of a larger probe. Just last month, Ahmer Hamid, 29, from Bradford, was jailed for raping the same girl in a separate attack.
Defence Claims and Future Fallout
Hussain’s lawyer said his client was a man of previously good character who “paid the ultimate price” for a “weekend of terrible behaviour.”
