Paedophile Jailed Over Brutal Attack on Dad
Ben Shipton, 27, from Eltham, has been locked up for two years and one month after police found vile child abuse images on his devices — and he launched a violent attack on his own father.
Dawn Raid Exposes Horrific Child Abuse Materials
The National Crime Agency flagged Shipton in November 2023 for uploading disgusting child sexual abuse videos to a Dropbox account linked to him. Police carried out a Met Police dawn raid on his home in July 2024.
When confronted, Shipton grabbed a butter knife and threatened to kill his parents. His father heroically disarmed him before the police were called and Shipton was arrested again.
Parents Say: “Our Lives Are Living Hell”
“Our son has made our lives living hell,” the devastated parents said in a victim impact statement.
Shipton later admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and making threats to kill.
Judge Slams Paedophile With Tough Sentence
Judge Ben Gumpert KC showed no mercy despite Shipton’s mental health claims.
“Possession of pornographic images of children who have no ability to resist what is being done to them for the viewing of people like you is both disgraceful and serious,” the judge said.
The judge insisted on an immediate prison sentence, especially given Shipton’s violent attack on his father. He must serve at least 40% of his sentence behind bars before becoming eligible for release on licence.
A five-year restraining order bans Shipton from contacting his parents. He will also face a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must register as a sex offender for life.
