Isle of Wight Woman Caught in Paedophile Sting Pleads Guilty
Laura Harding faced Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning, charged with two counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child. The charges came after a sting by the notorious paedophile vigilante group, Guardians of the North.
Guilty Plea and Suspended Sentence
Harding, from Hookes Way in Newport, admitted guilt to both offences. Magistrates handed down a six-month prison sentence, suspended for one year.
Vigilantes Lead Police to Arrest
The Guardians of the North launched an undercover online operation, posing as underage victims. They then travelled to the Isle of Wight to confront Harding before alerting Hampshire Police.
Harding was arrested in early November and later bailed. Authorities charged her with sexually explicit communication—through texts and images—with two individuals she believed were under 16, for her own gratification.
Legal Consequences Beyond Jail
In addition to the suspended sentence, Harding must abide by a sexual harm prevention order and is required to register as a sex offender with the police.
