London Man Caught Dishing Out Illegal Immigration Advice
A Londoner has admitted breaking the law by providing dodgy immigration advice without the proper qualifications.
Balvinder Singh Madan Pleads Guilty
Balvinder Singh Madan, 40, from Southall, pleaded guilty at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday 7 October. He unlawfully offered immigration advice between October 2017 and April 2018 at a North West 1 office.
Immigration Commissioner Issues Stark Warning
Mr Madan didn’t have the authorisation or training required under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. Immigration Commissioner John Tuckett slammed the offence as “serious”.
“Immigrants often find themselves in a vulnerable position; Mr Madan demonstrated what can happen when unqualified individuals hold themselves out as immigration advisers.”
Sentencing Looms
Madan is due back in court for sentencing on 28 October. The case highlights the risks immigrants face from unregulated advisers.
