A suspected drug dealer has been charged following a probe into the supply of Class A drugs across Medway and East Sussex.

Kent Police detectives traced a string of phone numbers linked to known drug users in the Medway Towns and Hastings between November 2024 and January 2025. Their investigation led them to a property in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex.

On Thursday, 23 January 2025, officers raided a home in St Leonards-on-Sea. A man was arrested after an officer was assaulted during the operation. Police seized multiple wraps believed to be crack cocaine and two mobile phones.

Leesean Francis, 25, from Moorland Road in Brixton, London, was charged on Friday, 24 January, with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, and assaulting an emergency worker.

Francis appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court the same day and was remanded in custody. His next court hearing is scheduled for 21 February 2025 at Maidstone Crown Court.

Kent Police continue cracking down on drug distribution in the region. They urge anyone with information on suspicious activity or drug dealing to come forward.
