Manchester Driver Jailed for Shocking Sex Assault During Food Delivery

A Manchester delivery driver has been locked up for sexually assaulting a woman while dropping off food in Northwich.

Rana Jahangir Sentenced After Guilty Verdict

Rana Jahangir, 25, from Collington Close, Manchester, was found guilty of one count of sexual assault at Chester Crown Court on Friday, 27 February 2026. The judge sentenced him to two years and four months in prison. Jahangir must also sign the sex offenders register for ten years and is banned from contacting the victim under a strict court restraining order.

Shocking Attack During Food Delivery

The court heard that on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, Jahangir delivered food to a home on Shipbrook Road, Rudheath. Instead of a simple handover, he grabbed the woman from behind, hugging and kissing her without consent. The assault dragged on for over a minute, ignoring her repeated pleas to stop.

Victim’s Brave Move Leads to Arrest

Initially, the woman reported the incident to the delivery company rather than the police. But after opening up to friends, she contacted officers the very next day. Jahangir was arrested and denied all charges, claiming the encounter was consensual. However, part of the assault was secretly recorded on the victim’s mobile phone, sealing his conviction.
