Lewis pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm and was handed a 16-month jail sentence on 1 November 2019. He was also hit with a five-year restraining order to protect the victim from any future contact.

“This appalling assault left the victim traumatised and with lasting emotional effects,” said PC Harry Groves of the Medway Vulnerable Investigation Team. “She sustained injuries to her face and neck in an entirely unprovoked attack. I am pleased the courts have recognised the serious nature of this incident and Lewis is rightly serving a custodial sentence.”
