Brutal Bottle Stabbers Nabbed: Man Jailed for Stabbing Stranger in Penzance
A violent thug has been slammed with a five-and-a-half-year prison sentence after stabbing a stranger with a broken bottle in Penzance town centre.
Chilling Attack on Quiet Street
Freddie Clow, 27, homeless and notorious locally, launched the vicious assault in the early hours of 1 July 2025. The victim was walking home along Market Jew Street after a night at the Seven Stars inn when Clow struck.
The victim recalls nothing after suddenly being kicked around “like a football,” only waking up later in hospital with blood soaking his back.
Witnesses Describe Sickening Scene
- A passerby saw Clow standing over the victim, rifling through his pockets before calmly walking off with stolen items.
- Another neighbour heard a smash and shouting, then spotted Clow beating the man on the ground. The witness feared the victim was dead and filmed part of the attack.
- A third witness found the injured man bleeding face down and gave first aid until police arrived.
Police also tied Clow to criminal damage just minutes later after he threw paving slabs and bricks at a nearby property.
Police Speak Out on “Brutal and Unprovoked” Violence
“Freddie Clow armed himself with a broken bottle and left the victim for dead. It was only luck the injuries weren’t fatal,” said DC Rhys Salisbury.
“We want this sentence to send a clear message: violent crime won’t be tolerated. We will hunt down and punish offenders relentlessly.”
