A 24-year-old man has been charged following a serious assault in Trowbridge on Saturday night.

The attack occurred on Castle Street, where a man in his 20s sustained facial injuries severe enough to require hospital treatment.

Joshua James, from Holt, has been charged with Section 18 GBH (grievous bodily harm) and is currently remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear in Magistrates Court this morning.

A second man, also in his 20s, was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released under investigation as police continue their enquiries.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the assault to contact Central CID on 101, quoting log 381 from 26/09. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
