Christopher Cole, 30, from Clun Road, Wick, Littlehampton, was arrested on Thursday, 5 November. He faces charges over the murder of Sarah Clayton at the Buckle caravan and camping site on Marine Parade in Seaford.

Sarah Clayton was found dead in a tent at the caravan site on 13 May. The Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team quickly launched a murder inquiry following the tragic discovery.

Sources have confirmed that Cole and Sarah were known to each other prior to the incident.

Cole appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 5 November. He was remanded in custody and is due to face Lewes Crown Court on 9 November.
