A 27-year-old man, Krishnan Singh, has been charged with rape after a shocking attack in Hackney, London. Singh, who has no fixed address, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on December 8.

He has been remanded to Snaresbrook Crown Court and is scheduled to appear there on January 6, 2026.

The alleged assault occurred just after 6.30pm on December 5. Initially, police sealed off part of Pollard Square Gardens in Whitechapel, where the crime was first reported. However, further investigation revealed that the incident took place in London Fields, Hackney.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, is currently receiving specialist support from trained officers. The Metropolitan Police have made the case a top priority as their inquiries continue.
