Jean Marc Dable, 25, with no fixed address, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 11 November, after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of 24-year-old Dylon.
The tragic incident occurred following a music event held in converted garages at Telegraph Mews, Seven Kings. What began as a night of entertainment quickly turned deadly when tensions escalated between the groups of Dable and Dylon as they left the venue.
Police were first called to Telegraph Mews at 6:10am on 24 November 2019 after reports of a fight. Initially, no stab wounds were found, but shortly afterwards officers were rushed to Ilford Lane where a man was found with knife injuries. Dylon was discovered bleeding and received emergency first aid before paramedics arrived. He was taken to an east London hospital but sadly died at 12:36pm that day.
Dable admitted to carrying a knife that night, which he concealed between his buttocks—a habit he said he had when going out. Despite attempts by others to defuse the situation, Dable lunged and stabbed Dylon, who had been trying to maintain peace.
Dable was arrested on 30 November while still recovering in hospital and was initially charged with murder. A post-mortem examination at West Ham Mortuary confirmed that Dylon’s death was caused by a stab wound.
Detective Inspector Adam Callaghan commented: “Homicide teams across the Met work relentlessly to achieve justice for victims. Our thoughts remain with Dylon’s family who continue to grieve. Dable will now be prevented from committing violence against anyone, and London’s streets are safer without him. He has years ahead to reflect on the brutal choice that ended Dylon’s life.”
