Notorious Killer Mohammed Fethaullah Dies Behind Bars

Mohammed Fethaullah, 64, has died in custody at HMP High Down. The convicted murderer and rapist passed away on May 13 last year, ending a dark chapter in UK crime history.

Life Sentence for Vicious Stepmother Murder

Fethaullah was sentenced to life in prison back in 2002 for the brutal kidnap and murder of his stepmother, Yasmin Akhtar. The horrific crime stemmed from bitter family tensions after a messy divorce between Fethaullah’s father and Akhtar.

Yasmin was snatched from her Redhill home, forced into a shop on Old Kent Road, then strangled with black tape. Her body was wrapped in carpet and set ablaze in Larkhall Park, Clapham.

Rape Victim Speaks Out Years Later

Adding to his infamy, a woman came forward in 2017 accusing Fethaullah of raping her in 1999 when she was just 14 years old. She was working in a Brixton grocer’s shop under Fethaullah’s management at the time.
