Richard Turner, 47, from Woodyard Court, Grimsby, has been jailed for seven years after a significant quantity of crack cocaine worth approximately £12,880 was found at his residence. The sentencing occurred at Hull Crown Court on Monday, 20 April 2026, following Turner’s guilty plea to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
In February 2026, officers from Humberside Police’s Southbank Op Kinetic Intervention Team carried out a raid on Turner’s address on Woodyard Court. During the search, Turner admitted to having drugs and cash in a rucksack. A thorough search uncovered the large stash of crack cocaine, alongside several mobile phones and SIM cards, which are being used to further the investigation.
Turner was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged. A 51-year-old woman who was present during the raid was released without any further action.
Detective Inspector Tom Kelly commented on the case, stating, “Drug supply continues to cause significant harm in our communities, often linked to exploitation and wider criminality. The sentence handed to Turner reflects the seriousness of these offences and the role he played in the supply of drugs in Grimsby. This result shows how our officers are working hard to disrupt drug crime.”
He added, “We urge the public to keep reporting suspicious behaviour. Every tip helps us build a clearer picture and step up action against organised crime.”
Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious activity by speaking to their local police officer or visiting a police station. They can also call the non-emergency police line on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In emergencies, always dial 999 immediately.
