On The Run: Former Solicitor Kerry Ann Stevens Still Dodging Police
Kerry Ann Stevens, 40, a former solicitor, remains a ghost on the streets despite four active arrest warrants. Essex Police have released a fresh mugshot as they step up the hunt.
Stevens has skipped court at least nine times and is wanted over multiple ‘dine-and-dash’ scams across Essex.
Prawn Cocktails & Roast Chicken – £62.20 Bill Left Unpaid
Stevens and her boyfriend, Daniel Alani, allegedly pulled off cheeky meals at several restaurants without paying. At The Castle Inn, they stacked a bill of £62.20 with prawn cocktails, breaded mushrooms, two roast chickens, and drinks – then vanished.
Landlord Ken Todd, 76, revealed the drama: “The man tried to leave through the back door which was locked, and the woman reportedly attempted to flee through the bathroom window.”
From Shop Theft to Taxi Scams – Charges Mount Up
- Stevens faces 11 counts of making off without payment and one of shop theft.
- The pair were arrested at a Great Wakering address on 2 May 2024 but released on bail — they never showed up in court.
- Essex Police issued public appeals after the couple disappeared, with four warrants now outstanding.
- They’re also accused of dodging taxi fares. One driver claimed Stevens shouted at him for refusing her phone charger as payment.
- Alani has admitted theft-related offences and awaits sentencing next Thursday.
From Law to Lawless: Struck Off Solicitor Now Fugitive
Stripped of her solicitor licence in May 2024 amid the scandal, Stevens has swapped courtroom prestige for a wanted fugitive status.
The police are desperate to catch Kerry Ann Stevens and Daniel Alani, who remain at large after a spree of unpaid bills and court no-shows. Essex Police urge anyone with information to step forward now.
