An eight-year-old boy was caught in the crossfire during a brazen shooting in Ladbroke Grove, West London, on Sunday evening. The gunman targeted a residential property, sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood.

At around 6 PM, armed officers from the Metropolitan Police responded swiftly after reports of gunfire. The child was struck amid the chaos and was rushed to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. His condition remains unknown.

Residents in nearby Maida Vale and Queen’s Park reported a deafening police helicopter hovering overhead for what felt like an hour. Multiple police vehicles with sirens blared through the streets as emergency teams secured the area.

A wide police cordon now blocks off the crime scene. Detectives and forensic experts are combing the area, gathering bullet casings and inspecting damage to the targeted property. Roads remain closed as investigations intensify.

“At approximately 6 PM on Sunday, November 24, reports of a shooting in Ladbroke Grove prompted an armed police response. A child was injured and is receiving medical treatment. No arrests have been made yet. Enquiries continue,” a police source confirmed.

Police are appealing to the public for help. Officers urge anyone with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the shooting to come forward. Locals are encouraged to assist in piecing together the events that led to this alarming attack.

The community remains on edge as they await further updates on the young victim’s condition and any progress in the hunt for the gunman.
