Cop’s Heart-Stopping Chase as Suspect Revs and Ramps Off
A routine traffic stop in Sudbury on 8 November exploded into a nail-biting episode. PC Owen Turner tried to stop a car linked to drug crime, but 33-year-old Josef Zielinski had other plans. As the officer opened the driver’s door, Zielinski slammed the car into reverse and sped off — with PC Turner hanging on for dear life.
Bodycam Shows Officer Clinging to Escaping Driver
The chaos was caught in raw bodycam footage. PC Turner grabbed the side of the speeding car, while another officer was knocked down and dragged behind the vehicle as it smashed into a parked car. Turner managed to kill the ignition—only for Zielinski to fire the engine up again. The standoff ended when cops wrestled Zielinski out and cuffed him.
- During the mayhem, Zielinski dropped ten wraps of cocaine beneath the car, later recovered by officers.
Jailed for Drugs, Dangerous Driving and Assault
The drama landed Zielinski behind bars at Ipswich Crown Court on 6 February. He was sentenced to four years in prison and banned from driving for three years. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, dangerous driving, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.
