Man Locked Up for Life After Sickening Sexual Attacks on 10-Week-Old Baby
A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for brutal sexual and violent assaults on a baby just TEN weeks old.
Christopher Phillips was locked up at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, January 16. He denied the charges but a jury found him guilty after a harrowing trial.
Judge Slams Injuries as “Catastrophic” – Baby ‘Hit by a Bus’
The judge detailed the baby’s injuries as catastrophic. An anal tear was so severe it was compared to being “hit by a bus.” The infant was in such agony it required morphine twice – an extremely rare treatment for babies, experts revealed.
“That utterly defenceless baby had his bottom ripped open to satisfy your grotesque sexual perversion,” the judge said to Phillips.
Phillips was found guilty of two counts of assault by penetration of a child under 13. The baby suffered multiple fractured ribs, brain bleeding, and bruising to his testicle.

Phillips ‘Hunted for a Baby’ on Tinder to Abuse
The chilling court revelations showed Phillips was actively hunting for a baby to abuse. He used Tinder, scanning profiles and zeroing in on one with a baby about a month old.
He targeted the baby’s mother, exploiting her vulnerability. The judge said Phillips was not interested in her but obsessed with gaining “unfettered access” to the child.
“Had she left the baby alone with you, it’s impossible to imagine what worse injury you could have inflicted,” the judge warned.
Desperate Lies and Failed Attempts to Shift Blame
Phillips refused to admit guilt throughout. He tried blaming the baby’s father, who was initially arrested but cleared.
The judge dismissed claims that drugs or alcohol caused the attacks, noting Phillips was functioning normally at work and in daily life.
His last-minute defence was as weak as his denials. The exact object used to assault the baby remains unclear but was likely Phillips’ penis, the court was told.
Family Trauma and Long Danger Ahead
Victim impact statements revealed horrible trauma. The baby’s father spoke of ongoing post-traumatic stress disorder and the heartbreaking challenge of explaining this abuse as the child grows.
The infant spent nearly a year in foster care during court proceedings, adding to the family’s ordeal.
Life Behind Bars – Minimum 16 Years Before Parole
The judge said Phillips’ depravity and ruthlessness mean he remains a grave risk. Life imprisonment was the only option.
“Your depravity, planning, and ruthlessness mean you will remain a danger to children for the rest of your life,” said the judge.
Phillips received a life sentence on the two main counts, plus concurrent sentences of 5, 7, and 3 years for other offences.
He must serve at least 16 years and 25 days before being considered for parole — but freedom is far from guaranteed.
Phillips will also be subject to indefinite sex offender registration and must pay a surcharge within three months of release.
