Man Jailed for Faking Stabbing in Swindon

A Polish man spun a shocking lie about being stabbed by a woman – and it’s landed him behind bars.

Police Duped by False Attack Claim

Wojciech Prus, 24, from Rudziniec, Poland, told Wiltshire Police a dramatic story that Slywia Thiede had stabbed him in the arm. But Swindon Crown Court revealed the entire stabbing claim was made-up, designed to derail justice.

Prus admitted to making false statements back in April 2021.

Judge Hands Down Slim Sentence Over Immigration Status

Because Prus isn’t a UK citizen, Judge Taylor had limited sentencing options. He was given five months in prison and hit with a £128 fine to be paid after release.
