A 12-year-old boy has been charged after a brutal attack left a woman in her 60s seriously injured in Birmingham. The victim was discovered at a home on Kellett Road, police say.

West Midlands Police rushed to the scene just before 6:15pm on Wednesday, 18 March. The woman remains in hospital in a critical condition following the shocking assault.
Youth Faces Multiple Charges Including Sexual Assault
The unnamed 12-year-old boy now faces charges of wounding and sexual assault related to the attack. He is also charged with theft from an incident last week and intentional strangulation after a separate street confrontation with another woman last month.
The boy has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Birmingham Youth Court on Tuesday, 24 March.
