A Palestinian migrant, Abu Wadee, 34, who yelled “death to all Jews” has been freed in the UK under Labour’s early release scheme after making a dangerous Channel crossing on a small boat and live-streaming the journey on TikTok.
Wadee was sentenced to nine months in jail for attempting to enter the UK illegally. Despite his antisemitic hate speech and photos showing him armed with weapons, he was released after serving just 40% of his sentence as part of efforts to reduce prison overcrowding.
Shockingly, Wadee was caught breaching his release conditions weeks after his initial release but was still freed again after serving his full sentence this month. On December 12, he confirmed his freedom on social media, thanking his supporters.
Wadee’s background is disturbing. He has made vile antisemitic threats, including calls for “death to all Jews.” Social media posts show him brandishing a Kalashnikov rifle and an artillery shell, as well as clashing with Israeli Defence Forces.
After arriving by boat and being arrested on the beach, Wadee spent time in a migrant hotel in Manchester before going to jail. He has now filed an asylum claim to remain in Britain. Reports indicate he wears an electronic tag and lives in a bail hostel, although the Home Office has refused to confirm his status or location.
The Home Office stated that “all foreign national offenders are referred for deportation at the earliest opportunity.”
Campaigners have demanded tougher action. Gideon Falter of Campaign Against Antisemitism said, “The Home Office owes the public answers, and given the potential threat, we need them now. From Manchester to Sydney, the intifada has been well and truly globalised. The authorities need to get a grip – we are out of time.”
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp called Wadee a “scumbag” and demanded immediate deportation, stating, “He has spouted antisemitic bile, called for the massacre of Jews and brandished an assault rifle.”
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick warned, “The Government must finally concede that there are people crossing in small boats who hate our country, and treat it as a national security emergency.”
Jewish groups condemned Wadee as a “dangerous extremist” and urged swift Government action to remove him from the UK.
This case has reignited criticism of Labour’s early release programme, which has freed thousands of prisoners early to ease overcrowding in prisons across England and Wales. Critics argue that the scheme risks public safety by releasing offenders who remain dangerous.
Releasing an antisemitic migrant twice after illegal entry has increased pressure on the Government to reform both the early release scheme and Channel migrant policies before another serious incident occurs.
