Thief Snatches £200 in Broad Daylight from Pensioner at Lloyds Bank

On 25 September 2023, a man in his 70s was waiting in line at Lloyds Bank on Chatham High Street clutching £200. Suddenly, Samuel Bronton, a 32-year-old with no fixed address, lunged from behind and snatched the cash before making a quick getaway.

Brazen Boots Heist Worth Over £460

Just two months later, Bronton struck again. On 28 November, he stormed into Boots the Chemist in the Pentagon Centre, stuffed a bag with razor blades and toiletries worth more than £460, and walked out without paying.

Patrol Cops Nab Repeat Offender

Police spotted Bronton on patrol in Bryant Street on 22 December and swiftly arrested him. The Medway Victim Based Crime Team charged him with both thefts. At Medway Magistrates’ Court on 26 December, Bronton pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody. He’s been conditionally bailed ahead of sentencing on 28 February 2024.
