Tragedy on Chelmsford Road: Elderly Man Dies After Disturbance
Police rushed to Chelmsford Road, Southgate, at 9:41pm on Saturday, 30 October after reports of a disturbance. On arrival, officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics found an 86-year-old man with a serious head injury. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Arrested at the Scene
A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. Police believe the suspect and the victim knew each other, adding a chilling twist to the incident. The victim’s family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Homicide Team Takes Over Investigation
Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime are leading the probe. The area remains cordoned off as officers continue their inquiries. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled to uncover the exact cause of death.
