Teen Stabbed to Death in Woolwich – “I’m 15, Don’t Let Me Die”

A 15-year-old schoolboy was fatally stabbed on Sunday evening in Woolwich, plunging the community into shock. The teenager was found with a stab wound around 6.30pm on Eglinton Road after reports of a disturbance.

As he lay seriously injured, a 43-year-old woman rushed to help him. She revealed how the boy pleaded, “I’m 15, don’t let me die.” Despite desperate attempts to save him, paramedics pronounced him dead shortly after arrival. His family has been informed.

Police Launch Manhunt as Knife Ban Looms

Police have made no arrests yet. Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry spoke outside Plumstead Police Station on Monday, condemning the tragedy. “The fact that a 15-year-old teenager, with his whole life ahead, has been taken in this way is a grim reminder of the danger posed by zombie-style knives. We are committed to doing everything to get these weapons off our streets.”

The timing is no coincidence, as a nationwide ban on owning zombie-style knives and machetes kicks in Tuesday. The ban is hailed as a crucial step in the fight against rising knife crime. High-profile campaigners like actor Idris Elba have long pushed for this crackdown.

Community Mourns Polite Teen’s Shocking Death

Locals described a harrowing scene. One eyewitness heard screams and rushed out after hearing someone had been stabbed. “He kept telling me, ‘I’m 15, I’m 15, don’t let me die,’ and I told him, ‘You’re not going to die, mate,’” she said.

Another neighbour shared how his 16-year-old son, a childhood friend of the victim, was devastated by the news. “It fills you with worry as a parent. He’s a black kid around that age—we try so hard to keep him away from gangs.”

Those who knew the boy called him “the most polite boy.” The community remains stunned by his untimely death. Police remain at the scene with cordons, tents, and ongoing house-to-house inquiries.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan offered his condolences to the victim’s family and the Woolwich community. “This heart-breaking violence has no place on our streets,” he said. The Mayor confirmed boosted police patrols will follow to reassure locals.

The Metropolitan Police are urging witnesses to step forward. Chief Superintendent Lawry appealed for anyone who saw someone running from the scene to come forward and help the investigation.
