Man Targeted Woman After Night Out

Kirklees Safeguarding officers have launched an urgent appeal for info following a shocking rape in Huddersfield town centre. The victim met a man near McDonald’s on John William Street around 2am last Sunday. The suspect, who offered to help her get home, walked with her through Cross Church Street and stopped at a 24-hour shop on Colne Street.

Suspect Description

  • South East Asian male
  • Aged 22-26
  • Medium build, about 5ft 5in tall
  • Brown eyes, short brown hair, with a beard

Attack Location and Timeline

The horrific assault occurred between 3am and 4:30am in fields near the University of Huddersfield campus, close to the Barbara Hepworth building. The attacker left the victim there and fled the scene.
