Shock at Woolwich: Person Falls from Height in Early Hours

A major incident erupted at 1.30am today on Wellington Street near Thomas Street, Woolwich, leaving emergency crews scrambling.

Rapid Response from Emergency Services

London Ambulance Service launched an all-hands effort, dispatching an ambulance crew, a fast response paramedic, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

The injured person received urgent treatment on-site before being rushed to a major trauma centre. Their condition remains unclear.

Wellington Street is completely closed both ways from South Circular to Thomas Street. Bus routes 53, 54, 291, 380, and 422 have been diverted, sparking disruption for early morning commuters.

Official Words from London Ambulance Service

“We were called at 1.36am today to reports of a person who had fallen from height in Wellington Street, Woolwich,” a spokesperson confirmed. “We treated a patient at the scene and took her to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

Metropolitan Police have yet to release further details on the incident.
