A woman in her thirties tragically died after a serious head-on collision on the A3 in Hindhead on the evening of Tuesday, March 3rd. She sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and later passed away in hospital. Her family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
The collision occurred just before 6:30pm near the northbound Hindhead Tunnel on the A3. A black Ford Fiesta suddenly veered across the central reservation after exiting the tunnel, colliding head-on with a grey Ford Fiesta travelling southbound.
Police are urgently seeking witnesses and any dashcam footage to help understand why the black Fiesta crossed into oncoming traffic. Officers have appealed for anyone who saw either vehicle before the crash to come forward, noting that dashcam and helmet-cam footage could be crucial in the investigation.
