Police hunt man over dramatic attempted assault at Co-Op in Stamshaw.
Shoplifter attacks security guard with knife
On Thursday, 27 July, between 6pm and 6.30pm, a man tried to make off with stolen goods from the Co-Op on Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw. When a security guard chased after him, the suspect lunged with a knife.
Daring syringe threat as suspect escapes
The guard bravely blocked the knife attack, but the suspect then pulled out a syringe to threaten him. The thug dropped £75 worth of stolen items before fleeing the scene. Luckily, the security guard was uninjured.
