A 12-year-old boy was bitten by a Rottweiler at Carrington’s Pirate Play Park last Saturday, 11 March 2023. The incident occurred around 5pm when the dog, off its lead, lunged at the boy, causing a painful leg bite and ripping his trousers.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained were not serious. The female owner of the dog, described as large-built with dark hair, fled the park via the Mansfield Road exit immediately after the attack.

Nottinghamshire Police are urging the owner to come forward and are appealing to the public for any information regarding the incident. PC John Pearson stated, “The dog ran up to the young boy and bit him. Thankfully his injuries are not serious. I’m appealing for anyone with information to get in touch. We urge the female owner to do the right thing and come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 493 of 11 March, or to report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
