Police hunt man over vicious machete stabbing outside Deptford mosque
Police have launched a desperate manhunt for Abdullahi Mohamed, 24, linked to a brutal stabbing outside the Deptford Islamic Centre.
Extremely violent machete attack
The savage attack happened on February 9 in Childers Street, Deptford. The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a stab wound but thankfully his injuries are not life-threatening.
Suspect considered dangerous
Detective Constable James Richardson from south east London police warned: “Mohamed is fully aware that police are trying to locate him for this offence. This was an extremely violent attack, using a large machete, and Mohamed is believed to be dangerous.”
Despite several enquiries, officers have not been able to trace Mohamed. They have now released a clear image of him to the public demanding help to find him before he strikes again.
Public urged to come forward – but be cautious
Police stress the incident is not linked to hate crime. However, they urge anyone who knows Mohamed’s whereabouts to contact the authorities immediately.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for the public’s help to locate Abdullahi Mohamed following this serious stabbing outside the mosque.” The hunt is underway – and time is running out for Mohamed to turn himself in.
