Vape Shops Still Selling to Non-Smokers Despite Warnings
In a shocking undercover probe, the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) revealed that almost 9 in 10 UK vape shops are willing to sell e-cigs to non-smokers. The investigation covered 100 shops out of 1,700 across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Nearly half of the stores didn’t even check if buyers were smokers, and a whopping 75% of those that did still encouraged non-smokers to take up vaping.
Richard Hyslop, chief of the Independent British Vape Trade Association, said: “Vape products should not be marketed to non-smokers or those under 18.”
“But over 90% of UK vapers are adult smokers or ex-smokers, so we don’t see this as a major issue.”
