Mice Scare Sparks Big Porridge Recall
British porridge favourite Moma has yanked seven porridge pots and two sachets off shelves. Why? Possible mouse contamination at their factory. The Food Standards Agency warns: don’t eat these products, they could be unsafe.
Which Porridge Pots Are at Risk?
- Almond Butter & Salted Caramel porridge pot
- Apple, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar porridge pot
- Banana & Peanut Butter Protein porridge pot
- Blueberry & Vanilla porridge pot
- Cranberry & Raisin porridge pot
- Golden Syrup porridge pot
- Plain No-Added Sugar porridge pot
- Almond Butter & Salted Caramel sachet
- Apple, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar sachet
Moma says no other items are affected but urges shoppers to return any of the above for a full refund.
Moma Plays It Safe Despite Low Risk
A Moma spokesperson said: “The chance of contamination is low, but we’re acting quickly to keep customers safe.” They added, “If you’ve bought these porridge products, don’t eat them. Return to the store for a full refund.” Stores have put up warning notices, and an alert runs on Moma’s website.
From Railway Arch Start-Up to Nationwide Recall
Moma Foods began in 2006 in a Deptford railway arch, selling porridge and smoothies. Now a household name, this recall shows the brand’s commitment to safety—putting customers first, no matter what.
