A man remains in stable condition at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth after a stabbing incident on the Somers Town estate just after 8pm last night.
Halloween Scuffle Ends in Stabbing
The drama unfolded in the rear garden of Edgbaston House at Sedgley Close, where police and scene of crime officers spent hours combing the area. The attack reportedly started when the man lashed out at a 9-year-old girl wearing a clown mask, who was coming home from a Halloween party.
Shocking Eyewitness Account
A resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said, “She lived on the thirteenth floor of Edgbaston House. I heard a woman screaming the little girl’s name after the man attacked her.”
They added, “The mum ran off with her kids, then came back with two men who stabbed the attacker.”
Emergency Response and Police Investigation
- Paramedics arrived quickly and treated the man in the garden for over an hour before rushing him to hospital.
- Police sealed off the area with cordon tape and collected a large quantity of clothing as evidence.
- South Central Ambulance Service confirmed they responded to a knife wound call at 8.36pm.
- The man is now stable at QA Hospital; no arrests have been confirmed yet.
Police lifted the scene cordon just after midnight on Thursday, but the investigation remains ongoing.
